Stimulus package includes green provisions

Somewhat lost during the holiday season and our turbulent political situation, the massive stimulus package (which passed on Monday, December 21, 2020, and was signed into law on December 27, 2020) contains some important provisions designed to fight global climate change.

Like all bills of its type, the stimulus package is a compromise. Importantly, the bill contains provisions supporting wind, solar, and energy storage (batteries). More controversial provisions address carbon dioxide storage and nuclear power.
