Biden’s green grid plan faces political, practical challenges

President Biden has proposed a bold plan to convert America’s electrical grid from fossil fuels to renewable sources, notably wind power. In many ways, Biden’s plan is an admirable proposal, particularly in contrast to the previous four years of lies and inaction.

However, the Biden clean energy plan faces two hurdles. First, in the United States, which Bill Mayer accurately calls “an impacted colon of a country,” even the most reasonable of policies (e.g. public health measures to fight the COVID-19 pandemic) get politicized. Second, nationwide power grids involve many practical challenges, such as acquiring right-of-ways for new transmission lines.

I wonder if instead of focusing on “Big Wind,” perhaps Biden should emphasize private and other more localized energy sources?
